First, download the latest driver from Microsoft
Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers
Right click on "unspecified Device"
Click on "Properties"
Click on the "Hardware" tab
Click on "Update Driver"
Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
Click on "Let me pick from a list..."
Select the Microsoft Controller.
Then select the Xbox 360 Wireless receiver for Windows Version 2.1.0.1349 [4/8/2009])
Right click on "unspecified Device"
Click on "Properties"
Click on the "Hardware" tab
Click on "Update Driver"
Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
Click on "Let me pick from a list..."
Select the Microsoft Controller.
Then select the Xbox 360 Wireless receiver for Windows Version 2.1.0.1349 [4/8/2009])
Win8 install method
After you plug in the game receiver, find the device under device manager. Right click and chose "Properties"
Click 'Driver'--> 'Update Driver'on the Properties Menu
Click 'Browse my computer for driver software'
On next page, click 'Let me pick from a list'
On next page, roll the menu down to end, click 'Xbox 360 Peripherals'
On next page,click 'Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
Update the driver,do not worry about the warning massage
After install the driver, the game receiver has been recognized by Windows, you can start to connect your Xbox360 wireless controller to your PC
